There's a storm brewing in Kansas with proponents of horse slaughter milling around. Timing is pivotal for our horses, with the escalated push by foreign investors to reopen horse slaughter plants in the U.S., more and more horses are at risk of cruel and barbaric slaughter. But the international award winning film, SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES A NATION BETRAYED will soon be in Kansas and you know what happened to the wicked witch of the East when Dorothy's house landed on her.
Local community members have been up in arms staking their position against the threat of a proposed slaughterhouse for horses in MO. Special interest groups have been pushing to reopen horse slaughter plants across the country even though this so called industry devastates American communities and almost exclusively profits foreign interests.
The Kansas City screen's premiere takes place on Sunday, April 15th at 2:45PM at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The auditorium offers the largest seating capacity of all the venues during the week-long festival which begins Wednesday, April 11th.
Seating is expected to sell out for this very special screening. Missouri residents and neighboring communities are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance for this landmark film.

"The impact of SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES A NATION BETRAYED is visceral and awe inspiring at the same time. The public must see this film!" —John Holland, Equine Welfare Alliance
"Masterfully presented! - Powerful and compelling!”
—Larry Lindner, New York Times best-selling writer
"This landmark feature documentary film is an intelligent and hard hitting exposé that reveals how the public has been misled by government agencies and corporate interests that run over the laws that are supposed to protect the horses and the environment," —Laura Allen, animal law attorney.
