The mission of “Saving America’s Horses- A Nation Betrayed.” is to Protect All Equines From Slaughter. This film seeks to expose the truth, and advance compassion for equines. It's crucial in raising awareness for the public outcry needed to ban the slaughter and export of our American horses.
.
By standing together with us in support of this mission, you will without a doubt help to raise awareness and support for the horses and burros. The film production is founded on a coalition over thirty of the nation’s top horse experts, investigators and organizations supporting this CAUSE. Come stand with us!

We believe that...
• Horse slaughter is NOT humane and cannot be made humane
• Horse slaughter does not stop; has nothing to do with Abuse, Neglect or Abandonment of equines
• Americans do NOT support human consumption of horsemeat
• A Federal Law permanently banning horse slaughter in the US is necessary
• A Fed Law permanently banning the transport of equines for slaughter is necessary
• Wild horses and burros belong free on the range
• A moratorium on all BLM round ups is necessary
• Horses may become homeless, but No horse is “unwanted”
• Horse owners should have the right to humanely euthanize their equine
• Equine owners and breeders must take responsibility for the life of each equine in their charge

To join in this effort, just send an automated email with your Name. Organizations, Groups and Entities are also invited! Your name and or organization/ entity will be recognized on the official film website as part of this united effort to ban the slaughter of all equines, both

Canadian Horse Defense Coalition' Sinikka Crossland Joins Advisory Board

WFLF Humanion Films
Los Angeles, CA
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 18, 2010

CHDC’s Sinikka Crosland has joined WFLF Humanion Films production of Saving America's Horses - A Nation Betrayed as an Advisory Board Member!

Animals have been a life-long passion for Sinikka Crosland, Executive Director for the Canadian Horse Defence Coalition and President and Co-founder of B.C.-based TRACS (The Responsible Animal Care Society). At age five, when a wounded deer bolted by the window of her country home, she announced to her family that it was wrong to hurt other living beings. She proceeded to bring home stray cats, injured birds, and other animals in need of help. These pursuits then set the stage for the work she does today in the field of animal and environmental protection. A registered nurse, she eventually left that career in order to strive for the advancement of animal welfare. Sinikka lives in Westbank, B.C., with her husband Jim and a menagerie of non-human family members. She has two grown children, Kyle and Carmen.

FOUR HUGE STEPS FORWARD FOR THE HORSES IN FOURTEEN DAYS!

Los Angeles, CA
Wild for Life Foundation
January 15th, 2010

FOUR HUGE STEPS FORWARD FOR THE HORSES IN FOURTEEN DAYS!

1. With just FOURTEEN days into the New Year, WFLF has just returned from a week long stay on the Calico Range where we documented the round up and holding of 100’s of wild horses. Just released, check out the WFLF Calico Report; “The Look in Their Eyes”. WFLF Compassionate Animal TV will soon be releasing s special audio/video report from on the ground coverage of these activities.

2. Also check out the brand new WFLF Humanion Films PSA. In this “Message from the Filmmaker”, Katia Louise tells it like it is, exposes the proponents and promises to fight for the protection of all equines from slaughter until they are safe.

3. With the kick off of the new WFLF “WANTED Horse Campaign”, we encourage all equine rescues to reference the recent WFLF publication entitled, “Homeless YES, ‘Unwanted’ NO”.

4. WFLF is proud to announce that volunteer Executive Director, Katia Louise has just been appointed the West Coast Regional Coordinator for Americans Against Horse Slaughter.

Katia Louise said, “It's an honor and privilege to accept this position and to stand among those who continue to so courageously fight for this worthy CAUSE.” AAHS Co founders Shelley Abrams and Debra Lopez are encouraged in that this year promises to be very active in the fight to end horse slaughter. “Things are heating up on this issue once more and we have much work ahead of us”, said Katia Louise.

Katia is committed to bringing the truth to the public eye. As the newly appointed West Coast Regional Coordinator for AAHS, Katia asks those who oppose the barbaric practice of horse slaughter to be ever strong in this fight. “Many have been duped by the pro slaughter proponents and their clever campaigns of misinformation”, said Katia.

As highly regarded spokesperson and champion for the health and welfare of both wild and domestic equines, Katia's been working to end horse slaughter since 2004. Ms Louise is a Broadcast Journalist, Talk Show Host, Filmmaker, Actress and a lifelong animal advocate. Earlier this year she produced "Saving America's Horses" an audio documentary for international radio which in part inspired the making of the film currently in production, “Saving America’s Horses – A Nation Betrayed”. As Executive Director of WFLF Humanion Films, she formed a national coalition of the top anti-slaughter equine experts and pro-horse specialists which in 2009 officially teamed up efforts with AAHS to raise even more awareness for this cause.
