The National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board meeting will be web-streamed live

from the Hyatt Arlington, 1325 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia,

by HORSE POWER at nvhorsepower.org through their public information and educational partner Sierra Nevada Community Access Television (SNCAT).

This meeting will cover issues relating to the management, protection, and control of wild horses and burros on Western public range lands.

Topics include: Old Business, Update on Pending Litigation, Gathers, Adoptions,

Facilities and Forest Service Updates.

Including the recommendations and input from the Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board , Wild Horse and Burro Advocates along with Public Comments.

HORSE POWER is a non-profit 501(c)3, and their Educational Partner, Sierra Nevada Community Access Television., is proudly Bringing the Public the complete National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory meeting, Monday, September 28th, from 8 am - 5 PM. Starting 5 AM Pacific Standard Time.

“Mustangs on Capitol Hill” on September 29Th

On September 29Th, horse advocates will be headed to Washington D.C. in an effort to support The Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act (HR503/S727) and The ROAM ACT (S1579/HR1018).

"Mustangs on Capitol Hill" will be gathering on the West Front Lawn of Capitol Hill on September 29th from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. People are encouraged to bring signs with illustrations and can also bring brochures and literature to hand out. For more information on this event, please log onto The Cloud Foundation blog





In addition to “Mustangs on Capitol Hill” on September 29Th, there’s an effort to keep a strong presence in D.C. through the end of this congressional session. We are encouraging our members and all horse advocates who can attend D.C. for a day or two, to do so between September 29th and the end of October. The Horse Defense Fund will be lobbying for both The Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act and for The ROAM ACT during the week of Oct. 18th. This means we would need folks in D.C. for a day or two during the week of Oct. 4th, Oct. 11th and Oct. 25th.

Singer/ Song Writer Maria Daines joins Honorary Board for Saving America's Horses

WFLF Humanion Films is pleased to announce that Singer, Songwriter, Maria Daines has joined the film production of SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES A NATION BETRAYED as an Honorary Board Member . Maria has graciously donated several songs to the film in support of the CAUSE.

Maria Daines is a multi-award winning International vocalist and songwriter whose band supported US artist Pink at Cardiff International Arena for the Party For Animals World Wide in August 2007. The concert raised over £90,000 for six animal welfare charities. Based in the UK, Maria is an advocate for animal rights and welfare campaigning against breed specific legislation and many other issues of animal cruelty. Maria is Patron of Dog Watch UK - The Staffy Campaign, Patron of Cornwall's Voice For Animals, Animal SOS Sri Lanka, Doris Banham Sanctuary, The Racing Dog Protection Act, Honorary Member of Skiathos Cat Society and co-founder of One Life Rescue, helping unwanted dogs in crisis and emergency situations. Maria is also a member of Animals Count, a political party which aims to take animal issues to the top of the political agenda through setting the best policies for animals and encouraging existing political parties to become more animal friendly.

"When I was a young girl I was lucky enough to share my life with horses and ponies and these wonderful creatures of grace and loyalty taught me more about compassion than I ever learned in school. I have written songs to raise awareness of what is happening to America's horses and I support wholeheartedly the tremendously dedicated efforts of equine advocates, members of the public and indeed the producers and crew of Saving America's Horses, without whom it would be hard to envisage an end to the abhorrent slaughter of our most noble and forgiving friends."
