Awe Inspired Film Exceeds Expectations
"Saving America's Horses" screens to a jam packed audience at the International Equine Welfare Conference after winning Best Environmental Film in Canada.
"The first day of the International Equine Conference was topped off with, Katia Louise's award winning film “Saving America’s Horses - A Nation Betrayed” which screened to a jam-packed audience. The impact was visceral and awe inspiring at the same time. The beauty of the cinematography lay in stark contrast to the dark truths that the film so painstakingly and irrefutably laid bare. The overwhelming response was "the public must see this film!" —John Holland, President EWA
Cynthia D'Errico of Montreal, Canada flew in to DC just to see this film at the conference. “I waited 2 years to see Saving America's Horses. It exceeded all my expectations. It's a compelling passion driven production with lush yet dignified photography, intelligent cutaway shots, and it gave a through picture of our need to protect and preserve America’s horses.” —Cynthia D’Errico
The special private screening at the conference played to the largest number of cast members and advocates to date. Cast members in attendance included including Rep Ed Whitfield, former mayor Paula Bacon, John Holland, Laura Allen, Dr Elliot Katz, Julie Caramante, Craig Downer, JoAnne Normile, Joy Aten, Sonja Meadows, Susan Wagner, Ginger Kathrens, Suzanne Roy and Katia Louise.
“Saving America's Horses left me breathless. It's a deeply passionate look into the world of both wild and domestic horses. This exceptional film clarifies the highly controversial issue about the inhumane treatment of equines going to slaughter. It raises the bar for animal welfare in this country and renews the sense of urgency to help these horses. It's an enlightening and moving experience for anyone, even for those coming from years of experience in the thoroughbred industry like myself.” —Shelley Abrams, racehorse owner, Founder of "Horses Helping Horses", Co-Founder Americans Against Horse Slaughter

Continued tax deductible donations from those who care about this issue will help bring this film to the masses.

No film has moved and impacted on the audience more...
The Canadian screen's premiere of "Saving America's Horses" took
place through the International Film North Film Festival, Huntsville
Ontario, Canada on Sept 24, 2011. The Chair’s Founders’/RBC Closing
Night Reception In the Partners Hall at The Algonquin Theatre,
Huntsville brought additional attention to the horses with media and
guests converging with standing room only after the screening of SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES to a
full house, with a special filmmaker Q and A with international award
winning Director, Producer Katia Louise.
"Film North presented Katia Louise, Director of 'Saving America's Horses' with the RBC/Film North Best Environmental Film Award, because no film in this year's program has moved and impacted on the audience more.
At Film North we believe that there is power in films. 'Saving America's Horses' brings the plight of an endangered species to the forefront of awareness. Morally, intellectually and environmentally, mankind is obliged to evolve in the direction of preserving the equine.
