From SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES the movie, the new Prelude Trailer is an inspirational and compelling cinematic experience. It’s a brilliant and hard hitting exposé that reveals how the public has been misled by government agencies and corporate interests that run over the laws that are supposed to protect the horses, the public and the environment.

"Like a scope reaching into the bowels of evil, this trailer offers an electrifying glimpse of what lies beneath layers of cruelty and subterfuge in the horse slaughter industry." - Sinikka Crosland, Executive Director of the Canadian Horse Defence Coalition (CHDC). "SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES - A NATION BETRAYED delivers a compelling case for the abolition of a cruel, archaic and predatory industry. A civilized society yearns to be just and compassionate, not supporting practices that are inhumane and potentially detrimental to human health."

The opening day event will take place on Friday, December 16, 2022, in the afternoon and evening. Festivities will include full screenings of the international award winning documentary film, a live streaming event with cast members and contributors, plus special guest panel Q & A sessions following the screenings of the movie

"In 15 years, I have yet to hear one legitimate argument in favor of horse slaughter. Not one. I've sat through continuing education sessions and have been completely baffled at the complete untruths that are being told to veterinarians regarding both horse slaughter and the wild horses. I've been hearing these lies for 15 years now and they are what the veterinarians are basing their opinions on. This situation is so heartbreaking for our beloved horses. The horse slaughter industry is completely inhumane on so many levels not to mention what an unscrupulous industry it is as well. The industry represents everything that veterinarians are not supposed to be or do." - Dr. Lisa Jacobson

"My heart is broken and calls for this horrific travesty to STOP IMMEDIATELY! These Sacred Creations called Horse and Burro are integrated into our culture as Great Spirit's helpers for Indian peoples along with being teachers and Spiritual Medicine Keepers. It goes against ALL Natural Laws of Creator to slaughter horses and burros for human consumption worldwide!! AHO" - Chief Daniel "Eagle Warrior" Ramos, Chief Spiritual Leader, Choctaw Muskogee Yamassee Nation.

The 2022 Prelude Trailer from SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES features appearances by Paul Sorvino, Ken Wahl, George Knapp, Nicholas Dodman DVM, Nena Winand DVM, Elliot Katz DVM, Dr. Temple Grandin, Michael Blake, Chief Arvol Looking Horse, Craig Downer, John Holland, and Katia Louise, with new appearances by Sinikka Crosland, Lynley Edwards, Sioux Sarlis, Jay Coskie and Kora. Horses & Burros Heal our Hearts and Can Heal our Lands

Horses & Burros Heal our Hearts and Can Heal our Lands

America’s wild horses have been denied any genuine status or protection in the US. They have instead been labeled as “feral” and “invasive” which allows them to be legally harassed, shot, rounded up and hauled off to slaughter.

Horses and burros were previously thought to have disappeared from the continent roughly 10,000 years ago. However, a surmounting body of evidence confirms that horses never totally died out in America. Substantial evidence proves that the Equus species survived the ice age in America, and evidence of their continued presence has become too substantial to ignore.

Incontrovertible and indisputable fossil records and molecular biology evidence confirms that today’s Genus Equus (HORSES, BURROS and ZEBRAS) originated and co-evolved with the habitat of North America. Many people don’t even realize that the genus EQUUS, today’s horses and burros are GENETICALLY THE SAME as those that lived in the U.S. before their presumed extinction.

Why is this important? As a native species, wild horses and burros compliment the natural environment of North America. They are recognized by scientists all over the world for restoring rangelands, boosting biodiversity, and helping to the return of a wide variety of plants and invertebrates to the lands where they roam. Scientists and conservationists have indeed found that the re-introduction of wild equines to open lands is a positive way to restore ecosystems and wildlife.

Wild equids are keystone herbivores in our failing ecosystems, and wildfire fuel reducers. Their presence in the wild helps to slow climate change via a reduction in CO2 emissions from catastrophic wildfires. In the United Kingdom and other parts of the world, entire rangelands are successfully being rejuvenated through the return of wild equids in conservation grazing.

America's Horses Under Siege!

Wild for Life Foundation
"Saving America's Horses"
Nov 30, 2011

We don't eat our horses for many reasons.  We respect the bond of their love, they are sentient beings and they have earned an honorable place in our society and deserve dignified and humane treatment through to the end of their lives.

Should Americans spend over $5Million in tax payer dollars a year toward toxic pollution, increased crimes rates, promoting tainted meat products and endorsing barbaric cruelty to animals?"

What about the scientific evidence that reveals the serious health risks and lethal effects when people consume toxic substances banned from the human food chain?

"Saving America's Horses" provides a platform for the leading equine welfare organizations in the U.S. that have been working to ban horse slaughter for over the past decade.  Please help support our work by telling your friends about this important film project, and donate by mail or on line by visiting our website: www.savingamericashorses.org

"Saving America's Horses - A Nation Betrayed" is an intelligent and touching expose` that can raise the public outcry needed to pass a federal ban on horse slaughter. This documentary film is in post production with public release slated for early 2012, but funds are needed to pay for special processing in order to get "Saving America's Horses" to final print.

Big Ag wants to bring horse slaughter back to the U.S. and they've got deep pocket special interests helping to pave their way. If America doesn't speak out to stop it, Big Ag could open a horse slaughter plant near you, next year!

Help keep horse slaughter out of America by  supporting "Saving America's Horses"!

Since 2006, Congress has prevented horse slaughter in the U.S. by cutting funds for inspections of horse meat from its annual Agriculture Appropriations bill, but the fate of America's horses has now been undermined in one swift move. There has been overwhelming support by the American public, the horse community and the House of Representatives to include de-funding language in the 2012 Agriculture Appropriations bill but special Conference Committee members Representative Jack Kingston (R-GA),  Senator Herb Kohl (D-WI), and Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO), just removed that language from the final bill. Obama signed this bill into law on Nov 18th, 2011.

"Saving America's Horses" is film project under Wild for Life Foundation, a 501 c3 nonprofit charity dedicated to protecting, saving and preserving wild and domestic equines. Donations to Wild for Life Foundation are tax deductible to the full extend permitted by law.
