Official Selection in AMC Theatres KC Film Festival:

SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES A NATION BETRAYED has been officially selected to screen in the AMC Theatres Kansas City Film Festival as part of the US/International, Documentary Jubilee Showcase. AMC Theatres Kansas City FilmFest presented by the Kansas City Filmmakers Jubilee is dedicated to showing independent films and to celebrating the creativity and hard work of filmmakers from around the world.

The Kansas City screen’s premiere of SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 16th at 3PM.

Filmmaker Katia Louise masterfully examines the controversial issue of horse “processing” and “gathering” with first hand testimony from both sides of the fence in her international award winning film, SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES - A NATION BETRAYED. This landmark feature documentary film is an intelligent and hard hitting exposé that reveals how the public has been misled by government agencies and corporate interests that run over the laws that are supposed to protect the horses and the environment.

"Horse slaughter supporters are trying now to force slaughter plants onto a number of communities in the U.S. SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES is very powerful in making the point that despite the empty promises of investors which are typically foreign, horse slaughterhouses won't bring jobs and economic growth or relieve the suffering of horses,” says Laura Allen, Founder of Animal Law Coalition. “This film reveals the astonishing devastation to communities that horse slaughter leaves in its wake.”

“We are honored and thrilled for this opportunity to bring SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES to the great state of Missouri," says Katia Louise. “The public deserves to know the un-whitewashed truth."

Celebrate a week of film in Kansas City at the AMC KC Film Festival and help bring more attention to the horses! Sponsor opportunities for the Kansas City screen’s premiere of SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES are now open. Filmmaker Katia Louise has been invited to speak on the "Women Making Movies" panel discussion at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and also present SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES for the AMC Theatres KC Film Festival which runs April 11-15th, in Kansas City, MO.
