WFLF NEEDS HELP TO WIDEN THE AUDIENCE FOR THIS LIFE SAVING FILM!
Saving America’s Horses - A Nation Betrayed
We are asking you to help us get this film on the world stage. Saving America’s Horses A Nation Betrayed is a cause driven film project under Wild for Life Foundation (WFLF), a 501(c)(3) volunteer based nonprofit charity which relies solely on donations. The documentary recently opened in March and has showcased at two film festivals, earning multiple awards on the international level but it needs reach a wider audience. It needs to screen at more film festivals, then go to theaters to television and then finally to DVD.
“
Saving America’s Horses is a powerhouse narrative, telling of the often inglorious fate of our glorious horses, bought by ‘killer buyers’ for slaughter. This film takes in every aspect and tells its story with intelligence and a deep-running composure. The factual authority of soft-spoken experts, the dismay of a racehorse jockey, the anger of horse owners deceived, and the vows of politicians committed to righting a wrong--all play alongside the beauty and inspiration of America’s horses and the determination of those working to save them.”
– Paula Bacon, Former Mayor Kaufman Texas
“Saving America’s Horses – A Nation Betrayed is a brilliant and heartbreaking exposé. The film masterfully pulls us through layer after layer of the incomprehensible corruption, cruelty and greed that supports the seedy practice of horse slaughter. The film presents thorough research that leaves no doubt about the systemic corruption that has left virtually worthless those laws such as the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act and Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act, which are supposed to protect horses.”
— Laura Allen, Executive Director, Animal Law Coalition

"I have no doubt that this film will be the freight train that roars through our country awakening, engaging and empowering the public and Congress to effect a ban on horse slaughter. The film builds from provoking a deep appreciation for the majesty of horses, to sadness, to outrage. It left me with the same raw and stunned emotions I had after seeing “Dances With Wolves”."
– Jo Anne Normile, Founder of the anti-horse slaughter national racehorse rescue program CANTER, former racing breeder, owner, and BOD of the MI HBPA and M-TOBA (two racing organization boards)
I’m extremely honored to have had the privilege of seeing this film and can’t stress the urgency enough about getting this film seen as widely as possible ASAP. With the introduction of S 1176, there’s no time to lose. “Saving America’s Horses” is so powerful; I truly feel it will make the difference in finally getting the federal ban passed.
— Julie Caramante, Animal Cruelty Investigator

"Watching Saving America's Horses is a compelling and necessary education. I viewed it with my 9-year-old son -- the complex topic is masterfully presented -- and balanced rather than filled with graphic images. We were able to absorb it together. The powerful messages came through loud and clear."
– Larry Lindner, New York Times best-selling writer and former columnist for The Washington Post and The Boston Globe

Powerful and poignant... This movie is better than a thousand documents, pamphlets, or handouts sent to our Congressional leaders. This is a thousand pictures with a narrative that makes it very clear that our beautiful horses are being treated horribly, and we must take action before it is too late." - Pat Mendiola, Covina, CA
