Los Angeles, May 4, 2013, There’s nothing stronger than Willie Nelson's love of horses, and this legendary singer and songwriter, who is also a speaker in the movie, SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES; A NATION BETRAYED, is helping to launch WFLF’s movie poster fund raiser to help bring the message of this important film to more people.

 “I'm a little prejudiced when it comes to horses. I have always loved them,” says Willie. “When horse accepted man onto his back and chose to carry his burdens, it changed the world.”
People identify with horses the world over and with the social and political climate of the times, the urgency to widen the audience for SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES; A NATION BETRAYED has never been greater.

“The film is the mouthpiece for America’s wild and domestic horses and burros,” says filmmaker Katia Louise. “It speaks on behalf of equine welfare for all breeds and all disciplines.”

The Willie Nelson autographed movie poster will be auctioned off on EBay beginning May 16th to help raise awareness and launch this fund raiser. 100% of the proceeds from the posters will go to SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES!

The 91 minute feature documentary has won multiple awards in the festival circuit including Best Documentary Film in Los Angeles and Best Environmental Film in Canada. SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES also qualified for Oscar consideration through a Bi Coastal Theatrical Release in December, 2012, which garnered high-profile reviews and press coverage for the cause.

World renowned artist, Peter Max Named Good Will Ambassador to SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES

Peter Max, one of the world’s most famous living artists is recognized as Good Will Ambassador to WFLF’s SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES, the nation’s voice for the protection of equines from cruelty. Max seeks to raise awareness and funds to aid in the protection and preservation of America’s wild and domestic horses from cruelty by donating the proceeds of commissioned portraits, to the Wild for Life Foundation.

 “When the powerful and brilliant exposé, SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES, came  to NYC, I learned that thousands of healthy vibrant horses are disappearing and suffering from criminal animal cruelty," said Max. "This exposé has everything it takes to educate, engage and empower the public to effect social change but distribution is extremely expensive. Volunteers are working around the clock to break the cycle of animal cruelty for America’s horses and they need our help,” Max said.

“We are honored to welcome and recognize Peter Max for his passionate and invaluable support for SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES. As a Good Will Ambassador Max’s voice will undoubtedly speak to the heart of America and give strength to a more united effort in the protection of America's horses from gruesome slaughter,” said Katia Louise, President of WFLF’s Saving America’s Horses Initiative.

WFLF Humanion Films is pleased to announce that Amy and Raelyn Nelson have joined WFLF Humanion Films’ efforts as Special Guest Speakers and Cast for Saving America's Horses - A Nation Betrayed! The Nelson family has been raising awareness to end horse slaughter for almost ten years. Willie Nelson’s daughter, and grand-daughter, Amy and Raelyn (Aunt and Niece), have been working locally in their state of TN and federally on behalf of the horses. They have lobbied in Washington D.C. on multiple occasions to gain support for the Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act (H.R 503/ SB. 727). The girls and Willie all speak at various venues in effort to teach others how to show support for the Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act and also the Restore Our American Mustangs Act (ROAM) to amend the 1971 Free Roaming Wild Horses and Burros Act.
